About: Deborah Benasouli Singer and Vocal Teacher. ​ Déborah started acting professionally in theatre after studying at Nissan Nativ Acting School in Jerusalem. And now she is focusing on her biggest passion : Singing. She studied Jazz Singing with Electra Weston, Ferricia Fatia and Mila Lumbroso (Mila is graduated from Berklee School of Music). In 2006, she moved to New York and learned interpretation and harmony with Bob Mover and Barry Harris. She performs in a wide variety of Jazz Clubs in France such as Le Petit Journal Montparnasse, the Sunside, the LIDO, the Duc des Lombards, the Café Universel, the Tsé, the Winston, Espace Blues, the 7 Lézards, the Casino of Enghien-Les-Bains, the Charlie Birdy, the Train Theatre in Portes-Lès-Valence ... for festivals : Esprit Jazz Festival, Crest Jazz Festival, Jazz’n’Klezmer Festival, «The New Voices in Jazz» Festival at the Sunset, Euro Jazz Rueil Festival, Tanjazz, Avignon Festival and Jazz Festival Brazil with the vocal trio Sweet System, 4th winner of Sankofa Soul Contest Competition 2009, Prize-winner of Diva Jazz Competition2011, les Rendez-Vous de l’Erdre 2011, and in New York at Big Apple Jazz, Creole (Deborah had the chance to sing for the Rome Neal's Ladies in Jazz event).  Deborah was a member and singer of the drummer (Liz Mc Comb’s drummer) Larry Crockett’s band the « CROCK POTT » and was a back up vocalist in the « MAINSTREET» funk band.  In 2006, Deborah and her musicians formed the band « ELECTRICDIVA» . They opened for the jazz singer Robin McKelle. Their first CD “Electricdiva” was released in France in May 2010 and in Israel in June 2011. They also performed in Israel at Yellow Submarine in Jerusalem and at Tmuna Theatre in Tel-Aviv in July 2011.  She has been singing and performing with : Larry Crockett, Kim Yarbrough, Pierre Bertrand (pianist), Billy Hector, Awa Traoré, Moussa Cissoko, Olivier Zanot, Karl Jannuska, Laurent Souques, Yaron Herman, David Grébil, Gaël Rakotondrabé, Marc Benhamou, Frédéric Loiseau, “Mainstreet “, Chris Jennings, Alexandre Saada, Jean-Daniel Botta, Laurent Sériès, Philippe Crab, Leila Olivesi, Sweet System and with Pee Wee Ellis, Steve Williams and Sarah Morrow during a Masterclass organized by the Association K'Dense. Vocal teacher: Deborah teaches in different music schools: Lucadom, ICM, Sarah Luc School in Paris and in ENM (National School of Music, Theatre and Dance in Mantes-la-Jolie)
